LAHORE: Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, inaugurated the Color & Chem Expo 2025 at the Lahore Expo Center and visited various stalls, including those of renowned companies from China and other countries. Appreciating the participation of international companies, the Speaker said that such exhibitions are highly significant for boosting the national economy, strengthening the industry, and facilitating the exchange of modern technology.
Speaking to the media, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan expressed deep concern over the recent flood situation, stating that it is increasingly becoming a matter of Pakistan’s survival. He emphasized that water storage projects on rivers is the need of the time. He noted that such a devastating flood has not been witnessed in several decades. Vast areas across Punjab have been severely affected; entire villages have been submerged, and millions of acres of standing crops have been completely destroyed.
He assured that the government and relevant institutions are utilizing all resources to assist the affected people, adding that the government and the entire nation stand with the victims. Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, is taking strong measures to provide relief, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has already indicated plans regarding the construction of dams. “I will use all my political strength to ensure the construction of dams,” the Speaker asserted.
Commenting on India’s stance, the Speaker said that India is talking about suspending agreements, but such issues cannot be resolved through Modi’s actions. Regarding the exhibition, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stressed that international collaboration is essential for Pakistan’s economy. He stated that this exhibition will play a vital role in the country’s progress. Such events not only promote local industry but also assist in modern planning to cope with natural disasters.
