Secretary General People’s Party Parliamentarians Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has emphasized that the People’s Lawyers Forum (PLF) has its own identity and should not be merged with any other group. He said that district organizations of PLF should form electoral alliances at the local level instead of compromising their independent status.

He was addressing a consultative meeting with the lawyers of the PLF under the leadership of PLF Punjab President Raheel Kamran Cheema regarding the upcoming elections of the Punjab Bar, Supreme Court Bar, and Lahore High Court Bar. The meeting was attended by Azeem Hafeez, Secretary Information PLF Punjab, Shahid Abbas Advocate, President PLF Lahore Division, Qamar Abbas Advocate, President PLF High Court, Vice President Syed Zahid Shirazi, Raja Abdul Rehman, Iftikhar Shahid, Manzoor Shah, Zahid Chaudhry, Shakeel Pasha, Irshad Jadran, Imran Khokhar Advocate, Sakhr PSF Punjab Musa Khokhar, Farhat Noor, and other PLF members.
Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said he had come to consult regarding the Supreme Court and Lahore High Court Bar elections. He clarified that he had never demanded all the positions secured by the Pakistan People’s Party. He also pointed out that development funds were not being provided to the PPP members of the National Assembly from Punjab.
On this occasion, PLF Punjab President Raheel Kamran Cheema said that 16 candidates of the PLF were contesting elections across Punjab. He maintained that no independent group could win without the support of the PLF. He added that the PLF had not been given any share in the coalition government and stressed that all major decisions should be taken after consulting the four provincial presidents of the Forum.
Later, PPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari visited the residence of Altaf Qureshi, member of the party’s Federal Council, to offer condolences and Fateha on the death of his family member.
