LAHORE: (Monitoring Desk) – A Lahore judicial magistrate on Thursday granted the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) another four days of custody of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai.
The decision comes as investigators continue probing allegations that the YouTuber promoted illegal online gambling and betting applications through his social media presence.
Rehman was detained at Lahore airport on August 17. Authorities lodged a case against him under several clauses of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, including Sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing). He is also booked under Pakistan Penal Code Sections 294-B (Offering prize in connection with trade) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).
The case originated from a June 13 inquiry triggered by intelligence reports that certain YouTubers and influencers were allegedly profiting by promoting gambling platforms to the public. The FIR noted that ordinary citizens invested money into such apps and later suffered financial losses.
According to the complaint, Rehman endorsed platforms such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet 365, and B9 Game via his YouTube channel.
During Thursday’s proceedings, the prosecution pressed for more time to complete the investigation. Although defense counsel Chaudhry Usman Ali opposed the plea, the court ruled in favor of the agency and extended the YouTuber’s remand.
The case will next be heard on September 1.
