The spokesman stated that with the help of advanced police softwares, 1,058 proclaimed offenders and 324 court absconders have been apprehended so far in 2025 as part of ongoing operations.
The crackdown, heavily reliant on technological tools and police software is part of the department’s broader efforts to modernize crime-fighting and improve public safety.
During security checks police traced criminal records of more than 2,400 individuals. The operation utilized the Travel Eye software, through which over 24 million individuals were screened. Meanwhile, the Hotel Eye software facilitated the monitoring of 1.148 million hotel guests and Smart Eye was used to check records of 30,900 foreign nationals.
Moreover, data from 1,096 hotels, 1,223 hostels and 195 factories were analyzed through the police’s integrated software systems, the spokesperson added.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized the importance of technology in narrowing the net around habitual offenders. “The use of advanced technology is helping tighten the grip around proclaimed criminals,” he said, adding that strict action would be taken against hotel and bus terminal owners who fail to record passenger data in the police’s digital systems.
CCPO Kamyana directed law enforcement personnel to keep a close watch on wanted criminals who attempt to travel discreetly by blending in with passengers. He further instructed that recording all passengers’ data in the police software must be ensured without exception.
He also highlighted the need to integrate efforts with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s surveillance network to identify and apprehend fugitives. “Technology should be used to accelerate arrests of dangerous criminals and ensure a safer society through better information technology,” he concluded.
