LAHORE: Director FIA Lahore Zone, DIG Capt. Ali Zia (PSP), chaired an important meeting on Tuesday with Group Heads of the Compliance Divisions of various banks to strengthen cooperation in combating financial crimes.
During the meeting, participants held a detailed and fruitful discussion on enhancing coordination between the banking sector and FIA to curb fraud, money laundering, and other illicit financial activities. The Director FIA emphasized the need for timely information sharing and proactive compliance measures by banks to protect the financial system from abuse.
Circle Incharge Banking Circle Malik Sikander Hayat and SHO Irfan Khan also attended the meeting, underscoring FIA’s commitment to closer collaboration with financial institutions.
The meeting concluded with a pledge from both sides to improve mechanisms for monitoring suspicious transactions and to work jointly in safeguarding the integrity of Pakistan’s banking sector.
