The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has categorically dismissed recent rumours about changes to the leadership of the national cricket team’s Test and ODI squads, labeling them as baseless.
A PCB spokesperson clarified that speculations regarding Salman Agha replacing Mohammad Rizwan as ODI captain or Saud Shakeel taking over from Shan Masood as Test captain are entirely false.

The spokesperson emphasized that the selection committee has not discussed any such changes, nor have there been alterations to any player’s central contract category. The PCB urged fans and media to refrain from spreading unverified claims and to trust only official announcements for accurate information on team matters.
Earlier this month, the Men’s National Selection Committee unveiled Pakistan’s squads for the upcoming T20I tri-series and Asia Cup, set to be held in the UAE from August 29 to September 28.
The tri-series, involving Pakistan Afghanistan and the UAE, will take place at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7. The eight-team ACC Asia Cup T20I tournament will follow in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 28, with Pakistan grouped in ‘A’ alongside India, Oman, and the UAE.
The 17-member squad includes: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Waseem Jnr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Sufyan Moqim.
