LAHORE: SSP Investigation Lahore, Muhammad Naveed, came down hard on several officers for substandard investigations during an open court (khuli kachehri) held at his office on Thursday.

In line with Punjab Chief Minister’s vision, the Investigation Wing continues to hold open courts to bridge the gap between citizens and police. Citizens appeared individually to share their complaints and problems directly with the SSP.
During the session, SSP Naveed listened to the grievances and issued on-the-spot directions to relevant officers for immediate redressal. He also reprimanded several in-charges for poor quality investigations and issued show-cause notices on the spot.
The SSP emphasized that cases must be decided strictly on merit and directed all investigation officers to improve their performance. “Ensuring timely justice and upholding the rule of law is our top priority,” he said, adding that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens remains the foremost duty of the police.
He stressed that officers must treat visitors with courtesy and improve efficiency, noting that prompt justice was the only way to maintain peace and order. “My office doors are always open to the public, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with citizens in every difficult hour,” Naveed said.
The open court was attended by the In-charge Complaint Cell, PA, and In-charge SSOIU.
