LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, during his visit to Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal, announced that the renovation and restoration work of the sacred site will commence shortly. Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Singh Arora said that serious efforts are underway to preserve the sanctity of all religious sites and protect the rights of minorities in Pakistan.

He added that Gurdwara Panja Sahib is not only a symbol of the Sikh community but also a shared cultural and historical heritage of the entire subcontinent, which is why its restoration is among the government’s top priorities.
The project includes the cleaning of natural freshwater springs that flow beneath the Gurdwara premises and the relocation of the sewage drain outside the Gurdwara’s boundary, ensuring better facilities and a cleaner environment for visiting pilgrims.
The Provincial Minister further stated that both the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Provincial Government have issued clear directives to safeguard minority places of worship and provide maximum facilities for worshippers and visitors. He remarked:
“Pakistan belongs to its minorities just as much as it belongs to the majority, and the state will continue to fulfill its responsibility by preserving and restoring their places of worship.”
Ramesh Singh Arora was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at the Gurdwara. At the conclusion of his visit, he performed religious rituals. The visit was also attended by Members of the Provincial Assembly Mohsin Ayub Khan and Imran Ijaz, Deputy Secretary Human Rights Mian Umar Hayat, Dr. Majeed Abel, Assistant Commissioner Hassan Abdal Aqsa Imtiaz, PML-N leader Chairman Ali Asghar Awan, and other dignitaries.
