India on Tuesday unveiled its 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025 which is set to take place in the UAE.
The Indian team is headed by Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill as vice-captain. The defending champions are aiming to clinch a record-extending ninth title in the tournament, which begins on September 9, 2025.

India’s campaign will kick off against the UAE on September 10. The squad features significant changes, with the return of key players strengthening the lineup for the high-stakes event.
Notably, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Kuldeep Yadav have been included, while opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been omitted. Bumrah, who last played white-ball cricket in the 2024 T20 World Cup, returns after focusing on Test cricket and missing the ICC Champions Trophy due to an injury.
To bolster the batting, India has included young talents Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh, adding dynamism to the middle order. The team blends experience with youth, with players like Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Sanju Samson also featuring. This strategic selection reflects India’s ambition to dominate the tournament.
