LAHORE: Naseerabad Police have registered a case against several transgender individuals accused of producing and uploading obscene videos on social media. According to police, the suspects organized an indecent gathering on August 1, where videos were filmed and later shared online.

The main suspect, along with several others including Jinan Sandhu, Jan Haseena, and Rehmat Zafar, has been arrested, while raids are ongoing to nab remaining accomplices. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azeem Nadeem.
The action comes just days after renowned fashion designer Maria B posted a video condemning what she called “shameless cultural performances” by transgenders, urging the government to take strict action. Following her appeal, Punjab authorities swiftly moved against the culprits.
Officials said the crackdown was launched after the videos went viral, noting that promoting obscenity under the guise of parties or photoshoots is a serious criminal offense.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran declared that no illegal or immoral activities would be tolerated, vowing to bring all offenders before the court of law. He further revealed that the screening of the banned film Joyland has also been halted, reaffirming that any activity contrary to Islamic values and national laws will face strict punishment.
