MADRID –The 79th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony at the Embassy of Pakistan in Madrid. Ambassador Dr. Zahoor Ahmed raised the national flag to the tune of the national anthem.

Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Omer Manzoor, Commercial Counsellor Mr. Ali Asghar, and Second Secretary Ms. Maryam Mushtaq read out the messages of the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister.
In his address, Ambassador Zahoor spoke about the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made for an independent homeland. He highlighted Pakistan’s victory in Marka-e-Haq and praised the armed forces for safeguarding the country’s sovereignty. He also acknowledged the contributions of Pakistanis in Spain in strengthening bilateral ties, noting their role in supporting both the Spanish and Pakistani economies.
He expressed pride in Pakistan’s progress toward becoming a dynamic and forward-looking nation and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to providing accessible and respectful service to the community.
To honor Marka-e-Haq and pay tribute to the armed forces, Pakistani student Ms. Fareeha Ashraf, along with children, sang a milli naghma. The ceremony concluded with a cake cutting, attended by members of the Pakistani community and Spanish guests.
