LAHORE: Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has implemented comprehensive security and surveillance measures on the occasions of Independence Day, Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), and Urs of Hazrat Ali Hujwiri (RA).

In Lahore and major cities across the province, Smart Safe City Centers are providing round-the-clock (24/7) surveillance and rapid response capabilities to ensure public safety. For Independence Day celebrations, special teams of Virtual Patrolling Officers have been deployed in all Smart Safe City Centers. All major entry and exit points, sensitive public areas, and central markets across the province are continuously monitored through advanced cameras. Facial recognition and AI-based cameras are being used to keep a close watch on suspicious and disruptive elements. Individuals involved in one-wheeling or public disturbances are immediately identified through these cameras, and field forces take swift action. Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA): Security arrangements have been strengthened along procession routes, gatherings, and other events to ensure the safety of participants. Urs of Hazrat Ali Hujwiri (RA): Advanced technology is being used to monitor the movement of pilgrims, and all necessary measures are in place to safeguard public safety. Additionally, Radio Safe City FM 88.6 is broadcasting live traffic and security updates for citizens. Representatives from Lahore Police and other law enforcement agencies are also on duty at Smart Safe City Centers.
