LAHORE– In a significant crackdown on drug-related crime, Lahore Police have arrested 7,655 suspects and registered 7,496 cases so far this year, according to the spokesman Lahore Police.

The spokesman stated that the anti-narcotics operations led to the seizure of a large quantity of illegal substances, including 3,755 kilograms of cannabis (charas), 669 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 341 kilograms of heroin, 263 kilograms of opium and 45,485 liters of liquor.
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed officials to continue strict action against drug traffickers and smugglers. He emphasized the need for organized efforts to eliminate modern drugs such as ice and heroin.
“To protect our youth from the scourge of drug addiction it is imperative that all those involved in the drug supply chain are brought to justice,” CCPO Kamyana stated. He also urged parents, teachers and civil society to play a proactive role in fostering a drug-free society.
