lAHORE: Secretary Price Control and Commodities Management Department Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, has reiterated the government’s commitment to providing essential commodities at controlled prices while ensuring product quality.

Under the Chief Minister Punjab’s initiative, 15 ‘Sahulat on Go’ Bazaars by the Sahulat Bazar Authority have been launched in Lahore. Development work has already begun at seven sites handed over to the Authority, including Faisal Town, Moon Market, Gulshan Ravi (1 & 2), Madar-e-Millat, Raiwind, Manga, Shahdra, and Shadman.
Dr. Bhutta visited multiple sites — Gulshan Ravi, Shadman, Madre Millat Road Township, Faisal Town Kotha Pind, Manga Mandi Multan Road, and Raiwind near Sabzi Mandi — to review progress. He was briefed by Acting D.G. Sahulat Bazar Authority Naveed Ahmad, General Manager Roshan Zamir, Deputy Director Projects, and Consultant Malik Maqsood Ahmad.
He directed officials to ensure the quality of materials (pipes, foundations, brick ballast, concrete, etc.) and to conduct quality tests, such as concrete cylinder testing, through established labs at UET. He also instructed the installation of bamboo bars around electricity poles for safety and the planting of greenery at the Shadman site to act as a buffer against odors and enhance the environment.
Dr. Bhutta announced that his next visit would focus on the remaining sites and emphasized expediting development progress.
