LAHORE: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, at his camp office to review the detailed arrangements for the upcoming Minority Week celebrations to be held from 7th to 11th August 2025.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Human Rights & Minorities Affairs, Farid Ahmed Tarrar; Chairman Standing Committee on Human Rights & Minorities Affairs, MPA Falbous Christopher; MPAs Emmanuel Ather, Shakeela Javed Aurthur, Tariq Masih Gill, Waseem Anjum; Section Officer (Admin) HR&MA and representatives of various departments.
Minister Ramesh Singh Arora briefed the participants that according to vision of CM Punjab , Minority Week will formally begin on 7th August with a vibrant convoy of double-decker buses departing from the Cathedral Church of Pakistan at Regal Chowk. The opening will include a plantation drive to promote environmental awareness. The convoy will visit major religious sites including Krishna Mandir, Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Badshahi Mosque, Iqbal’s Mausoleum, and will conclude at Minar-e-Pakistan, where large-scale interfaith celebrations will be held.
Further events planned for the week included, a university-based program focusing on minority issues, high-profile seminar at Alhamra Arts Council and Sports Day for the minority community.
The minister described the initiative as a historic event, emphasizing the participation of foreign diplomats and stressing that this is a prime opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s peaceful, tolerant, and progressive image to the world.
He issued directions to concerned departments,
Tourism Department to arrange four double-decker buses, traffic Police to ensure smooth traffic management, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) to manage arrangements at the Gurdwara and Mandir and
Information & Culture Department to ensure comprehensive coverage at international media via print, electronic and social media.
Minister Arora urged all departments to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the success of Minority Week, which aims to highlight unity in diversity and promote interfaith harmony in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Tourism Department, WASA, PHA, ETPB, Auqaf, Home Department, DGPR, WCLA, Lahore Police, and Traffic Police.
