LAHORE: The National Women Journalists Forum organized a Quran recitation ceremony to honor the memory of renowned journalist Usama Khan Sherwani, who recently passed away. The event was held for the Eisal-e-Sawab (prayers for the departed soul) of the late journalist.
Forum President and senior journalist Farzana Chaudhry paid tribute to Usama Khan’s contributions, stating that his untimely death is an irreparable loss to the field of journalism. She emphasized that his professional work and dedication will always be remembered.
The gathering was attended by General Secretary Durkhshanda Almdar, Senior Vice President Kanwal Naseem, Vice President Azka Masood, Information Secretary Nabila Akbar, Finance Secretary Rabia Azmat, Joint Secretary Zahida Parveen, and members including Mubshera Sultan, Zubaida Anwar, Ayesha Fayyaz, Iqra Mughal, Mubshera Anwar, and Dr. Saima Iqbal.
Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks in the hereafter.
