The Governor extended best wishes to Sanders and expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his role in brokering a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, promoting regional peace and stability.
Governor Haider appreciated Hawkins’ contributions to strengthening Pakistan-US relations, particularly her role in initiating the American University campus in Lahore in collaboration with Lahore NIT.
Highlighting the potential for enhanced Pakistan-US trade ties, the Governor emphasized the need for educational collaboration through student and teacher exchanges. He urged the United States to establish sub-campuses of its universities in Pakistan to help equip Pakistani students with modern education.
Governor Haider invited Consul General Sanders to visit underdeveloped areas of the Pothohar region and expressed hope for US cooperation in tackling climate change. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, he criticized India’s aggressive stance and highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He also praised Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir’s determination to eradicate terrorism.
