LAHORE– Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) from the 52nd Common, currently undergoing training at the National Police Academy, visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) headquarters in Lahore. The visit was part of their exposure to modern, technology-driven policing practices.

On this occasion, Chief Operating Officer of PSCA, Mustansar Feroze, delivered a comprehensive briefing to the trainee officers on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in policing, the use of advanced surveillance systems, and the operations of the Authority’s centralized system.
The officers reviewed real-time surveillance operations being conducted by the Smart Safe City Centers across the province. They also observed the functioning of the 15 Emergency Helpline, including the live reception of emergency calls and the swift police response mechanism.
A key highlight of the briefing was the automated e-challaning system that utilizes AI to detect and process 19 types of traffic violations. The COO also introduced the officers to specialized PSCA initiatives such as the Virtual Women Police Station, Child Safety Center, Virtual Center for Minorities, and the Virtual Blood Bank.
The delegation was further briefed on citizen-focused services including emergency panic buttons, the public free Wi-Fi project, and the Crime Stoppers reporting system.
It was emphasized during the visit that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision of a “Safe Punjab,” the Safe City project is being extended to all districts of the province to enhance law enforcement capabilities.
The trainee officers appreciated the infrastructure, technological advancement, and international standards adopted by PSCA. They remarked that the insights gained during this training would significantly aid in modernizing Pakistan’s policing methods in line with global best practices.
