LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Lahore, Syed Zeeshan Raza, presided over a crime meeting at the Investigation Headquarters, focusing on unresolved cases, serious criminal investigations, and the arrest of absconders.

The meeting was attended by SP Investigation City Farhat Abbas, DSPs of Investigation from the City Division, and Investigation In-charges. A comprehensive review was conducted of pending cases, particularly those involving serious crimes and absconding suspects.
DIG Zeeshan Raza expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of certain officers, reprimanding and warning those showing negligence or poor investigation standards.
He issued strict directives that negligence in handling cases involving women—including rape, violence, and harassment—will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Special teams are to be formed immediately to arrest proclaimed offenders, the DIG instructed. He also emphasized ensuring the arrest of absconders who have fled abroad, through Interpol coordination.
Supervisory officers have been ordered to obtain daily progress reports regarding absconder arrests. The DIG also directed that accused individuals in financial crimes must be arrested promptly, and their cases concluded efficiently.
DSPs Investigation have been instructed to hold daily meetings with Investigating Officers (IOs) to monitor progress on serious criminal cases. He stressed that swift arrests in such cases must be guaranteed without fail.
DIG Raza called for optimal use of all available resources to improve challan (case report) ratios. He emphasized that no compromise on merit will be tolerated in the investigation process.
He directed the preparation of strong, evidence-based challans to ensure that offenders are brought to justice. He further instructed that coordination with the Prosecution Branch be improved for better case outcomes.
Solving citizens’ grievances and conducting investigations on merit remain top priorities, DIG Syed Zeeshan Raza concluded.
