LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has come down hard on the brutal honour killing of a girl in Balochistan, calling it “an attack on the conscience of all humanity.”

In a strong message posted on social platform ‘X’, the CM said the heartbreaking incident has shaken every sensitive soul, adding that such a heinous act is beyond forgiveness.
“No tradition, custom or ideology that goes against the rule of law and state authority can be tolerated in a civilized society,” she wrote.
Maryam Nawaz demanded that the killers be caught without delay and face strict punishment under the law. She emphasized that justice must prevail, no matter how powerful or deep-rooted the forces behind such crimes may be.
Meanwhile, in separate statements, the Chief Minister also expressed grief over two tragic incidents that claimed the lives of innocent people in Sarai Alamgir and Kasur.
In Sarai Alamgir, three youths lost their lives by drowning in a canal. Maryam Nawaz took immediate notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the administration. She offered condolences to the bereaved families and appealed to parents to keep children away from dangerous water bodies, especially during the monsoon season.
In another tragic event, the CM grieved over the death of four people in a traffic accident in Kasur. She extended her heartfelt sympathies to the affected families and prayed for the departed souls.
The Chief Minister reiterated her commitment to protecting lives across Punjab, and urged both the public and administration to remain alert and follow safety measures to avoid such unfortunate events.
