CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamiana reiterated the police’s zero-tolerance towards begging. The police action will help to rid provincial capital of this social menace. He also ordered action against drug addicts disguising themselves to beg alms on the streets and chowks. He declared that anyone exploiting children for begging would receive no leniency.
“The handlers who use children as tools for begging will be brought to justice,” said CCPO. He added that the Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau was actively working on the rehabilitation of beggar children.
The CCPO also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring every child’s right to quality education. “Those who play with the futures of these innocent children will be made an example for others,” he concluded.
