LAHORE -Meesaq Centers in Lahore are a vital platform for delivering legal and policing services to religious minorities.

According to a spokesman for Lahore Police, more than 1,729 members of minority communities have benefitted from various legal services provided through these centers, so far, this year.
The spokesman shared that 342 character certificates were issued to the non-Muslim citizens, while 1,022 general police verifications were conducted. Additionally, the centers registered 33 missing person reports, 32 criminal reports and 31 reports from underprivileged individuals. Copies of FIRs were also provided to 25 applicants, he noted.
Meesaq Centers are currently operational in Liberty, Kahna and Mozang areas where non Muslim police staff has been posted to facilitate the visitors.
Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana maintained that the Meesaq Centers are best serving the non Muslim Pakistanis by protecting their legal rights. these centers offer one-window services for all policing-related needs of minority citizens, he added.
The Meesaq Centers are a vital avenue for addressing the problems faced by minority communities and arrangements have been made for visiting women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
In addition to providing legal services, Lahore Police is also ensuring the protection of minorities’ worship places, the CCPO concluded.
