LAHORE: Under the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, Pakistan’s first Virtual Women Police Station has achieved another remarkable success, fulfilling its mission of protecting women in distress. A visually impaired woman from Faisalabad, overwhelmed by severe domestic issues, dialed 15 and expressed her intention to end her life through self-immolation.

Due to extreme mental stress, the caller was unable to share her name or address. However, the trained female officer at the Virtual Women Police Station displayed exceptional professionalism, empathy, and patience during the call. She consoled the caller, calmed her down, and successfully gained her trust. While keeping the woman engaged, the officer skillfully gathered the necessary information and immediately dispatched the relevant police team to the location. Acting swiftly, the female police officer on the ground reached the scene in time, prevented the suicide attempt, and ensured the woman’s safety by transferring her to Dar-ul-Aman (shelter home). This act of saving a precious life truly reflects the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has given clear directives to prioritize women’s safety in the province.
