LAHORE: Police was engaged in a full-scale crackdown against criminal gangs operating in the city. According to the spokesman Lahore Police, a total of 1,784 criminal gangs have been apprehended this year, resulting in the arrest of 3,942 gang members during various operations.

The police have recovered stolen goods worth over Rs. 976.6 million, including 14 cars, 2,912 motorcycles, 100 other vehicles, 260 tolas of gold, 4,049 mobile phones and 51 laptops, the spokesman added.
In this regard, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana stated that operations have been carried out against gangs involved in robbery, theft, burglary and other heinous crimes. The recovered vehicles, electronics and valuables are returned to their rightful owners through a laid down procedure, he said.
The CCPO added that Lahore Police was fully committed to zero tolerance against criminal gangs. He asserted that intelligence-based operations against gangs involved in drug trafficking, gambling and burglary will be intensified.
Highlighting the successes, the CCPO noted that significant progress has been made in curbing heinous crimes in the city. Lahore Police was using both human intelligence and modern forensic science facilities to ensure that criminal cases are decided timely, he concluded.
