LAHORE: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s Virtual Blood Bank has once again rendered a valuable humanitarian service by ensuring the timely blood supply to newborn twins undergoing treatment at Services Hospital. According to doctors, the prompt response by Safe City played a pivotal role in saving the children’s lives.

Details state that a citizen called the emergency helpline 15 to request urgent blood supply for the newborns. Upon receiving the information, the Virtual Blood Bank officer began searching for a suitable blood group donor from the Safe City database and was able to connect with the donor within moments. The donor arrived at the hospital at the designated time and donated blood, which helped save the newborns’ lives.
The children’s parents expressed their gratitude for the timely assistance provided by the Safe City mission and registered as blood donors at the Virtual Blood Bank, pledging to help fellow citizens in distress whenever needed. According to the Safe City spokesperson, the Virtual Blood Bank of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority receives daily calls from 250 to 300 citizens requesting urgent blood. To date, more than 10,000 police personnel and over 30,000 citizens have been connected to this system as volunteer donors. This advanced blood bank system is providing round-the-clock services without interruption across Punjab. Citizens are urged to actively participate in this mission by donating blood, as it is not merely a service but a vital tool in saving precious lives.
