LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over a performance review meeting of Iqbal Town and Sadar Divisions at his office.

Commending the police force for exemplary security arrangements during Ashura Muharram-ul-Haram, the CCPO directed that appreciation certificates be awarded to the staff for their commendable performance. He emphasized ensuring foolproof security for Majalis and processions during the second and third Ashra of Muharram, the month of Safar, the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and the Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA).
The CCPO ordered to launch operation against drug trafficking and gambling. He also ordered effective monitoring of private security guards and community patrolling Chokidar, noting that the security barriers in residential areas had yielded positive results.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana made it clear that the SDPOs would be responsible if the cases are declared untraced without fulfilling legal formalities. Such cases should be disposed of in collaboration with prosecution department, he added.
He stressed the need for professional policing, urging the police to discharge their duties with professionalism to improve the department’s image. He reiterated that timely registration of FIRs was a right of the public and must be facilitated.
