LAHORE – A wave of congratulations poured in from traders, industrialists, and business leaders across Lahore and beyond as Shahid Nazir Chaudhry officially assumed charge as the Acting President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). His appointment follows the temporary absence of President Mian Abuzar Shad and Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman due to personal commitments.

A prominent voice in the business community, Shahid Nazir is widely acknowledged for his dynamic approach, consistent advocacy for economic reforms, and steadfast commitment to resolving the challenges faced by the trade and industrial sectors. Upon assuming office, he pledged to represent business interests with renewed energy and purpose.
“We don’t want hollow assurances—we want actionable steps,” Shahid Nazir stated in his first message as Acting President. “LCCI will continue to raise its voice constructively yet firmly to ensure that unjust policies are reversed and sustainable, pro-business reforms are enacted.”
Former LCCI Senior Vice President and Pioneer Business Group leader Ali Hussam Asghar, along with several members of the LCCI Executive Committee, congratulated Shahid Nazir and expressed full confidence in his leadership. Messages of support also poured in from market associations, trade bodies, and chambers across Punjab.
Known for his grounded leadership and accessibility, Shahid Nazir has played an instrumental role in several chamber initiatives focused on regulatory reform, SME uplift, and government liaison. His experience and rapport with stakeholders are seen as assets in the current challenging business climate.
As Acting President, he is expected to intensify efforts on critical issues including high taxation, energy affordability, bureaucratic bottlenecks, and export facilitation. The business community has expressed hope that his tenure, though interim, will mark the beginning of impactful engagements and tangible outcomes.
The LCCI Executive Committee has extended its full support to Shahid Nazir Chaudhry, calling him the “right person at the right time” to steer chamber affairs.
