LAHORE: A high-level meeting was held at the DC Office Okara under the chairmanship of the Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Syed Ashaq Hussain Kirmani regarding Muharram.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab Ms. Salma Butt, MNA Riazul Haq Judge, Members of Provincial Assembly Mian Muhammad Munir, Chaudhry Ghulam Raza Rabira, Chaudhry Javed Alauddin, Malik Ali Abbas Khokar, Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail and RPO Mehboob Rashid, Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed, DPO Rashid Hidayat and other officers. Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed gave a briefing about the arrangements for providing facilities to the mourners regarding Muharram. DPO Rashid Hidayat informed about the security arrangements for the gatherings and processions of Muharram.
The provincial minister also visited the facilities in the control room set up in the DC Office. On this occasion, he said that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to providing the best facilities to the mourners during Muharram. I have come to review the arrangements for Muharram on the orders of the Chief Minister of Punjab. All stakeholders of the Haram should be kept on board, he stated that the District Peace Committee should play a key role in the organization of Muharram-ul-Haram, medical camps and clinics on wheels should be provided for medical facilities to the mourners during processions and gatherings, all arrangements should be made for urban flooding in view of the monsoon rains, foolproof security of the Muharram-ul-Haram processions and gatherings should be ensured, I will monitor all arrangements on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Haram, the officials on duty in the control room should work diligently, the control room should be kept active 24 hours a day for monitoring the entire district and coordinating with the departments.
