LAHORE: The People’s Party Punjab (PPP) has said that Party was not taken into confidence on the Punjab budget. Our recommendations were not taken or suggestions were included. The people will not get any relief from the federal budget and the expected Punjab budget.
These views were expressed by Syed Hassan Murtaza, General Secretary of Pakistan People’s Party Central Punjab, while addressing a press conference at the Model Town. Hassan Murtaza, while answering questions from the press conference and the media, said that the People’s Party appeals to the champions of human rights for peace. Because their conscience needs to be shaken. The entire Muslim Ummah is being forced to recite verses of jihad to destroy the peace of the region.

Condemning the Israeli attacks, he said that the brave America does not see all this. It has attacked Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Is the United Nations only the representative of powerful countries? It does not see the deaths in Gaza and Iran. The United Nations should tell why its resolutions are not being implemented. The General Secretary of the People’s Party Central Punjab said that if we have become strong on the defense front, then the economic front will also have to be strengthened. If these are weak, then the people and the people will be weak.
He criticized the federal budget and said that exports are ending and imports are increasing. Only agriculture was left. The government has imposed heavy taxes on it and destroyed it. After the 45 percent tax imposed from July 2025, agriculture will not be left.
The government makes petrol, fertilizers, seeds expensive four times a year and wheat cheaper. All the sugar mills in Punjab belong to the government’s mafia. You sell sugarcane on credit and sell sugar in cash. He said that where is the Food and Agriculture Department? What are their fathers doing? Today we are crying about food security and yearning for grains. He said that the miners were designed in such a way that they can see water but cannot use it.
Today there is no water in the head, middle and tail and the government is squeezing the farmers. Hassan Murtaza strongly criticized the policies of the Punjab government and said that 32 crore rose water has been sprayed on the roads of Lahore while rose water is not available for the eyes of our children. Public money is being spent on personal advertising. Maryam Nawaz is so fond of advertising that she has put her picture on the dustbin and the prejudice is to the extent that she does not put the picture of her uncle the Prime Minister with her.
The performance of the Punjab government in one and a half years is zero. The money is ours, you are spending it. He said that if you are putting your pictures on the dustbins, then admit that you have also caused inflation. He said that education in Sindh While Punjab’s advertising budget is being increased, they imposed 18% tax on solar, tomorrow they will also impose it on oxygen, they are also imposing tax on the blessings of nature.
He further said that doctors have been humiliated and their licenses have been canceled, people from all departments are seen sitting on the charing cross instead of in the office, the federal government has increased the salary of ordinary salaried workers by 10%, although it should be increased by 50%. He made it clear that the Chairman Senate has been indifferent to the increase in his salary. Hassan Murtaza said that I have always fought for the rights of the deprived classes, the policy of the People’s Party is not what the government is doing, but the People’s Party wants to reform the system by sitting with the government, he said that what privileges are we taking to play on both sides of the wicket, Pakistan should stand with its neighboring country Iran, we will strongly oppose the new advertising bill.
