LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over performance review meeting of Iqbal Town and Sadar Divisions at his office. The meeting focused on finalizing a comprehensive security plan for upcoming month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The CCPO directed that all stakeholders be consulted regarding the security arrangements for Muharram related events/ majalis. The police officers should finalize their security plans in coordination with mourners and peace committees, in line with government SOPs to maintain peace and security at the grassroots; he added and maintained that maintaining peace and security during Muharram was a priority.
The CCPO also issued instructions for foolproof security arrangements for Chinese nationals. He expressed satisfaction over the successful security arrangements during PSL matches, the Pakistan-Bangladesh cricket series and Eid-ul-Adha.
Meanwhile, the CCPO urged full cooperation with the Crime Control Department to curb criminal activities. He assigned DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza the task of taking action against negligent policemen dealing with the investigation of narcotics cases. He called for strict disciplinary action against officials with poor performance in such cases to promote a drug-free society.
He further directed that departmental SOPs must be strictly enforced and continuously followed up for better outcomes. He urged police officers to play an active role in establishing a drug-free society and to work proactively against modern addictive substances like ice and heroin to save the adolescent age group.
Additionally, the CCPO instructed to develop a strategy to protect and rehabilitate the nomadic children living in city slums from falling into crime. He also emphasized the efficient use of Hotel Eye and Travel Eye software to apprehend wanted criminals.
