Provincial Minister distributes cheques among 100 Christian families

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, participated in a graceful ceremony held at Bhatti Arcade near Nestol Airport, Cantt (Bhatha Chowk), where he distributed cheques worth Rs. 15,000 each among 100 Christian families under the Easter Grant 2025 initiative.

The event was attended by PML-N ticket holder Naeem Shehzad Bhatti, various political and social figures, minority community representatives, and local dignitaries.

Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora stated that today’s event reflects the minority-friendly policies of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He said the Punjab government is committed to ensuring equal rights, welfare, and full participation of minorities in the province’s development. He emphasized that initiatives like the Easter Grant not only demonstrate the government’s solidarity with minority communities but also lay the foundation for a peaceful, equitable, and strong Punjab.
Praising Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, the minister said that she pays personal attention to the issues faced by minorities and has initiated practical projects that are bringing real improvements to their lives.
He highlighted the significance of the Minority Cards issued by the Punjab Government, calling them a major milestone. These cards not only serve as identity tools but also provide access to various government services including healthcare, education, financial assistance, and employment opportunities.
The minister assured that the Punjab Government guarantees complete religious freedom, protection, and equality to all minorities. “Our minority communities are now safer, more empowered, and more included than ever before,” he added.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the government has allocated special funds for the renovation and restoration of churches, gurdwaras, temples, and other places of worship across the province to ensure that religious freedom is accompanied by proper worship facilities.
He concluded by assuring the minority communities that the Punjab Government stands with them and will continue to take every possible step for their welfare and progress.
