The Letter of Intent outlines the intention of both parties to:
1. Facilitate regular exchange and cooperation between member enterprises of both associations.
2. Strengthen mutual collaboration in areas such as footwear manufacturing technology, management practices, and talent development.
3. Jointly explore development opportunities within the Chinese and Pakistani footwear markets, aiming for synchronized industrial growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Yasin said:
“This partnership reflects our commitment to modernizing Pakistan’s sewing and footwear machinery sector by learning from China’s technological advancements. It will open up vast opportunities for skill enhancement, trade growth, and technology transfer.”
The agreement will remain valid for five years from the date of signing and will automatically renew for another five years unless either party raises objections. A three-month written notice is required for termination.
Both parties also agreed to maintain strict confidentiality regarding any commercial or technical secrets exchanged during the collaboration, even after the agreement ends.
Signed copies of the agreement were exchanged between official representatives from both sides. The Guangdong Association and PISMIDA will now begin preparations for delegations, exhibitions, and potential joint ventures to activate the agreed terms.
This cooperation is expected to boost Pakistan’s capacity in industrial sewing and footwear production, create new business opportunities, and enhance exports in the footwear and allied sectors.
