LAHORE: An important meeting regarding Phase Two of the Chief Minister’s Internship Program was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Sports, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar in the committee room of sports department. The meeting included a detailed review of key points related to the launch of Phase Two.

Addressing the session, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar emphasized that transparency and merit will be ensured at every step of the program. He stated that any shortcomings observed in Phase One will be fully addressed, and each intern will be placed in their relevant field.
The meeting stressed the importance of registering participating companies in the first stage to ensure quality internship opportunities for the youth. Before starting internships in Phase Two, candidates will undergo preliminary training to help them perform effectively in professional settings.
During the briefing, Director General Sports, Khizer Afzal Chaudhry, shared that the program will offer hands-on training and practical experience to young individuals in both public and private departments. He added that the monthly internship stipend will be increased from PKR 25,000 to PKR 60,000 and the maximum age limit for applicants will be 28 years.
Each candidate will be placed in a department relevant to their academic background and skillset. Furthermore, participating companies and institutions will be registered beforehand to streamline the process.
The meeting also included discussions on increasing opportunities for youth and making the internship program more effective. Concluding the session, the Provincial Minister instructed the DG Sports to compile a comprehensive action plan based on the proposals discussed, which will be finalized in the next meeting.
The meeting was attended by DG Sports Khizer Afzal Chaudhry, the Additional Secretary, Vice Chairman Sports Board, DG PITB, Youth Affairs officers, and other relevant officials.
