LAHORE: Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Sports, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, has taken immediate notice of complaints regarding inappropriate behavior by the District Sports Officer in Khanewal.

As a result, District Sports Officer Muhammad Hafeez has been suspended with immediate effect. This action follows allegations of misconduct involving players at the Khanewal Gymnasium.
The Minister directed the Director General Sports Punjab to initiate a departmental inquiry against the suspended officer to uncover the facts and prevent such incidents from recurring.
Minister Khokhar emphasized that Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has issued clear instructions that any kind of mistreatment or misconduct towards players will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Punjab Government is fully committed to ensuring respectful, transparent conduct toward athletes and providing them with complete protection.
He further instructed the DG Sports to enhance monitoring of sports activities across all districts, ensuring that athletes are provided with proper facilities and treated with dignity. The Minister made it clear that no obstacles in the promotion of sports will be tolerated. A zero-tolerance policy is being strictly implemented to maintain discipline and create a positive environment in the Sports Department.
“Our athletes are the pride of Punjab,” stated Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar. “We will ensure their complete protection and provide every possible facility so they can bring pride to Punjab and Pakistan at both national and international levels.”
