LAHORE: Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) successfully hosted the Closing Ceremony of the first cohort of the Women Empowerment and Mentoring Program (WEMP). The event marked the culmination of a transformative initiative supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE).

Prof. Dr Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor LCWU, delivered an inspiring welcome address highlighting the university’s commitment to advancing women’s leadership in academia.
Chief Guest Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum Executive Director HEC, addressed the audience via video link, emphasizing the significance of mentorship in faculty development.
The program featured a comprehensive report presentation by Dr. Tahira Kalsoom, followed by speeches from Mr. Muneeb ur Rehman (Assistant Director, NAHE) and Dr. Noor Amna Malik (Managing Director, NAHE), both emphasized their support for the program’s national impact. Certificates were awarded to participating mentors and mentees, celebrating their dedication and growth. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Farzana Rashid, Chairperson of the WEMP Committee.
