LAHORE — In a significant breakthrough, Lahore Police have apprehended the prime suspect involved in the abduction and murder of a local resident, Ashir Atre, in the Batapur area. The arrest follows swift action initiated by DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, who took immediate notice of the incident.

Under the supervision of SP Investigation Cantonment Bushra Nisar, a dedicated team was formed to track down the perpetrators. The operation, led by Incharge Investigation Batapur Police Station, Rana Sadaqat, culminated in the arrest of the main accused.
According to police reports, the motive behind the crime was an ongoing personal enmity. The suspects allegedly abducted Ashir Atre and fatally shot him. In an attempt to conceal the crime, they tied his body to a concrete slab and disposed of it in the BRB Canal. Following the suspect’s confession, rescue teams successfully retrieved the victim’s body from the canal.
The suspect had fled the scene post-incident but was located and arrested through advanced technology and human intelligence efforts. DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza emphasized the commitment to justice, stating that a robust case will be prepared to ensure the perpetrator faces appropriate legal consequences.
In recognition of the team’s effective response, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed announced commendation certificates for the officers involved. DIG Raza reaffirmed the department’s resolve to tackle criminal elements decisively, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
