LAHORE: The meeting of the Punjab Assembly Standing Committee on School Education expressed anger over the non-distribution of books to students on time and directed strict action against those who showed negligence.

The meeting of the Standing Committee on School Education in the Punjab Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Committee Malik Nausher Anjum Langrial. Various important issues related to the School Education Department were reviewed in the meeting.
Chairman Committee Malik Nausher Anjum Langrial said that on the instructions of the committee, the “hardship and lockdown” has been lifted so that the obstacles facing the education system under the School Education Department can be immediately resolved.
The committee directed to ensure the participation of parliamentary representatives in the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Board of Directors at all costs so that democratic participation in policy making is maintained.
During the meeting, the committee expressed strong anger over the non-distribution of textbooks to children in schools on time. The committee members stressed that timely provision of books is essential for the educational continuity of children, and any negligence in this regard is unacceptable.
The committee clearly indicated that strict action will be taken against those responsible for negligence and such a situation will not be tolerated in the future.
The committee directed the concerned authorities to make timely availability of books mandatory for children in all cases so that the education system can improve and the educational future of children can be protected.
