LAHORE: The Investigation Police of Islam Pura Police Station have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed in connection with a case registered against her at the same station.

The preliminary incident report states that on February 8, 2025, at around 8:50 PM, a police team, led by Sub-Inspector Zahid Mahmood, responded to information about a protest rally led by PTI members Aaliya Hamza, Sanam Javed, Nazia Baloch, and Intizar Hussain Panjotha near Secretariat Chowk, approximately two kilometers east of the Islam Pura Police Station.
The rally, comprising 30 to 35 individuals, allegedly blocked the main road outside Aiwan-e-Adl, chanted provocative and anti-state slogans, and violated Section 144, which was imposed in Lahore at the time. Despite warnings from the police, the protesters resisted, leading to the dispersal of the crowd by additional police personnel.
