Over 300 Christian families received cheques from Provincial Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar and MNA Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar
LAHORE: Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs, Labour and Human Resource, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, alongside Member National Assembly Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar, distributed Easter grant cheques among more than 300 Christian families at a special event held at Khokhar Palace, Lahore.

Speaking at the event, Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar stated that, under special directives from the Chief Minister of Punjab, financial grants are being provided to religious minorities during all major festivals to amplify their celebrations. He emphasized that religious harmony, brotherhood, and equality remain top priorities for the Punjab government. “This event was held right in front of a Mosque to signify the utmost respect for the Christian community,” he said, adding, “In Pakistan, we are one nation, unlike India which is divided into many communities.”
He also expressed unwavering support for the armed forces, saying, “Every Pakistani stands united with our brave army, and if India dares to plot anything, it will receive a befitting response.” The minister announced an upcoming ration card program following the minority card initiative by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, which will provide monthly support of PKR 3,000 to 1.5 million families.
MNA Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar appreciated the Christian community’s longstanding contributions to Pakistan’s development and said, “Today’s event is meant to honor their services and ensure the government’s support reaches deserving individuals.” He added, “Our love for Maryam Nawaz is equally shared by the Christian community, and her historic steps for minorities will be remembered for generations.”
MPA Baba Fabulous Christopher thanked the Punjab government, particularly CM Maryam Nawaz, for the Easter Grant initiative. “This not only provides financial aid but also reinforces the message that minorities are equal and respected members of our society.” He also expressed gratitude for ongoing development work in Christian graveyards and neighborhoods under government programs.
Chairman Standing Committee Malik Shahbaz Ali Khokhar, Malik Shafaat Ali Khokhar, and other local leaders also lauded the initiative, saying such events promote social unity and solidarity. Special prayers were offered for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. A large number of Christian community members from PP-167, PP-168, and NA-126 participated in the event.
