Sonia Ashir attends special Easter prayer ceremony at Consuming Fire Church

LAHORE: Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights & Minority Affairs Sonia Ashir, extended warm Easter wishes to the Christian community in Pakistan and across the globe, highlighting the occasion as a symbol of hope, renewal, and divine grace.

“Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and brings a message of peace, forgiveness, and new beginnings. I convey my heartfelt greetings to our Christian brothers and sisters and wish them a blessed and joyful Easter,” she said. She expressed these views while attending a special Easter prayer ceremony held at Consuming Fire Church, King’s House, Bishop Road, Bahar Colony, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore. She joined the congregation in prayers for peace, unity, and the well-being of the nation. Pastor John AD and Richeal John offered special prayers for the prosperity and development of beloved country Pakistan.
Speaking at the church, she appreciated the vital role of the Christian community in Pakistan’s progress. “Our Christian citizens have immensely contributed to the fields of education, healthcare, and social welfare. Their service to humanity is admirable and reflects the true spirit of Easter,” she noted.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to human rights and interfaith harmony, Ms. Asher added, “We are one nation, beautifully diverse and united. Let us continue to build a society where everyone is treated with dignity, equality, and respect.
