Announces monthly stipend of Rs50,000

LAHORE – Federal Minister for Planning Commission, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, has officially launched the Engineers’ Internship Program under the joint collaboration of the Planning Commission and the Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP).

Speaking at the event, IEP Secretary General Amir Zamir Khan announced that unemployed young engineers will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 along with training courses.
He praised Ahsan Iqbal’s vision, calling the program a landmark initiative for the engineering community across the country.
Addressing the gathering, Ahsan Iqbal urged professional engineers and institutions like IEP to come forward and help resolve Pakistan’s water crisis.
He warned that without timely technical decisions, the country could face barren lands and intensified inter-provincial conflicts.
He also presented gold medals to engineers Amir Zamir Khan and Javed Saleem Qureshi for their outstanding contributions. The minister emphasized the importance of economic continuity under the Udaan Pakistan vision, targeting $1 trillion in exports by 2035.
