LAHORE: A man accused of brutally killing his wife on Eid day in Raiwind has been arrested, police said on Wednesday.

According to DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, who took immediate notice of the incident, a special team led by SP Investigation Sadar, Moazzam Ali, was formed to apprehend the suspect.

The accused, Abdul Ghaffar, allegedly murdered his wife Sajida Bibi with a sharp knife following a domestic dispute. After committing the crime, he fled the scene. However, Raiwind Investigation Incharge Sharafat Ali, using modern technology and human intelligence, traced and arrested the suspect. The murder weapon was also recovered.
DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza confirmed that Abdul Ghaffar is now in custody and a strong challan will be prepared to ensure he receives due punishment.
He further stated that those who commit violence or murder against women and children deserve no leniency. SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed announced commendation certificates for the police team.
