LAHORE: — The Collectorate of Customs Appraisement (East), Lahore, has recorded an outstanding 49.19 per cent growth in duty and tax collection during the first quarter of the calendar year 2025, as compared to the corresponding period in 2024 — marking a major milestone in revenue performance.

According to official data, the Collectorate collected Rs 9,426.43 million between January and March 2025, up from Rs 6,318.22 million collected in the same period last year. The month-wise breakdown reveals Rs 3,148.16 million was collected in January, Rs 3,146.06 million in February, and Rs 3,132.21 million in March. This reflects robust monthly growth rates of 48.15 per cent, 55.77 per cent, and 44.11 per cent respectively.
This stellar performance came under the direction of Chief Collector Rubab Sikandar. The on-ground execution was effectively carried out by Collector Mehreen Nasim and Additional Collector Pirzada Omer Qasmi, who led their teams with dedication, professionalism, and a commitment to transparency and facilitation.
It was said the Collectorate’s efforts included tightening enforcement, plugging revenue leakages, streamlining clearance processes, and strengthening coordination with stakeholders. These measures not only accelerated revenue collection but also enhanced the ease of doing business for importers and exporters.
This growth underscores the Federal Board of Revenue’s commitment to achieving national revenue targets and reflects the potential of Lahore Customs to sustain high-performance benchmarks in the coming quarters.
