LAHORE: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan hosted an Iftar dinner in honor of bureaucrats, businessmen and prominent personalties from different political parties, here at Governor House Lahore today.
The Iftar dinner was attended by Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan, Deputy Speaker Zaheer Iqbal Chanar, Provincial Minister for Commerce & Trade Chaudhry Shafy Hussain, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafie Hussain,Aitzaz Ahsan, CEO Lahore Qalandar Rana Atif, American Consul General in Lahore, Iranian Consul General, Chinese Consul General, Consul General Turkiye and other important personalities.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the doors of the Governor House are open to all political parties .
He said that Pakistan is currently facing many challenges including terrorism, for which everyone must demonstrate national solidarity.
He said that the security and stability of the country and nation should be our top priority.
The Governor of Punjab said that the soldiers of our security forces are making endless sacrifices to maintain peace in the country. He said that the entire nation stands by the Pak Army in the war against terrorism.
The Governor of Punjab said that national unity is needed to defeat terrorists.
He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to make Pakistan prosperous and stable.
The Governor of Punjab added that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always talked about the fundamental rights of the people and will continue to draw the attention of the Punjab government to the fundamental problems faced by the people in the province.
He said that fasting teaches a lesson not only about hunger and thirst but also about patience and tolerance.
He said that we should alleviate the suffering of the poor and deserving people. The Governor of Punjab added that anti-state social media propaganda will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
