LAHORE: The 20th International Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally, powered by Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as CBD Punjab, entered its second day with even more excitement and fierce competition.
The grand event, organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), witnessed an action-packed day at Dilwash Stadium, where top racers from across Pakistan and beyond competed in challenging desert terrain.

The second day of the rally commenced with a dynamic flag-off ceremony, attended by COO CBD Punjab, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, along with senior officials from CBD Punjab and TDCP. Notable attendees from CBD Punjab included Executive Director Legal Barrister Bilal Afzal Khokhar, Director Business Development Ali Waqar Shah, Director Marketing Waseem Siddiq, and other senior representatives. Their presence reaffirmed CBD Punjab’s commitment to promoting motorsports, tourism, and cultural heritage in Punjab.
With 79 vehicles competing in Stock Categories A, B, C, and D, the second day of the rally witnessed high-speed action across the desert landscape. Adding to the excitement, CBD Punjab’s racing team also participated in Stock Category A and B, with skilled drivers Aqeel Ahmed, Hatim Warraich, and Usman Nadeem representing the authority on the track.
Bilal Chaudhary took to the track once again, determined to retain his title against strong competitors. The day’s key highlights included intense battles between Muhammad Ullah Marwat, Aqeel Ahmed, Asif Imam, Saeed Shahwani, and Hatim Warraich, each showcasing their racing prowess in a thrilling contest.
The rally’s international appeal was further strengthened with the participation of Iranian racers, adding an element of global competitiveness to the prestigious event. Furthermore, the presence of women racers emphasized the inclusivity and diversity of motorsports in Pakistan.
Alongside the main categories, truck races, dirt bike challenges, and quad bike competitions captivated motorsport enthusiasts, delivering a spectacular display of endurance and skill. The vast desert landscape of Cholistan transformed into a vibrant festival, with spectators and visitors celebrating the region’s rich culture and adventurous spirit.
Standing on the podium in category A were Khalid who stood first, Masood Hoth second and Asif Imam third. In woman category Laleen Akhunzada came first and Zunaira Mahmood stood second in Truck category Ahmed Shah Murchakhel came first, Syed Ghazanfar Agha second and Sameer Malik 3rd
Speaking on the occasion, COO CBD Punjab, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, remarked, “The Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally is not just a motorsport event; it is a testament to Punjab’s resilience, culture, and passion for adventure. Through this collaboration, CBD Punjab and TDCP continue to elevate the tourism and sports industries, bringing national and international recognition to Southern Punjab.”
He further added, “This rally reflects the vision of CBD Punjab and TDCP to promote tourism and position Punjab as a hub for thrilling and inclusive sports events.”
