LAHORE: Punjab Assembly speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan termed the absence of assembly members in the provincial assembly session as regrettable. Millions of rupees are spent on the session. If no meeting is being held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, then the members’ excessive interest is not the right attitude.

During the question hour of Zakat and Ushr in the session that started with a delay of one and a half hours, the Speaker got angry over the release of Rs. 25,000 by the Zakat and Ushr Department for deserving families on the occasion of marriage. The Speaker said that it is shameful that Rs. 25,000 has been provided on the occasion of marriage for the last 25 years. He said thatThe members have increased their salaries. This matter should be looked into immediately. At least the amount should be Rs. 100,000.
The Speaker Punjab Assembly, while explaining the matter of adjournment motion on the objection of the opposition, said that adjournment motion is a very important matter. Due to the lack of interest of the assembly members, the Speaker adjourned the session till 2 pm on Monday, saying that government resources worth crores of rupees were released on the occasion of the session. are used, but keeping in mind the non-serious attitude of ministers and members, they will write a letter to the Chief Minister on this. The Chief Whips of both sides should ensure the attendance of their respective members.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has termed the elite’s occupation of the Gymkhana Club as extremely shameful and oppressive. I want the rent of the Gymkhana Club to be fixed according to the Law of Land. The annual rent of one thousand ninety kanals of the Gymkhana Club is fifty rupees, which is the height of oppression on the people. Opposition member Ahmar Bhatti has proposed to use a bulldozer to occupy the Gymkhana Club, declaring the elite class’s occupation of the Gymkhana Club as government encroachment. Therefore, the Gymkhana Club should be demolished by declaring Maryam Nawaz’s government encroachment. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has adjourned the Punjab Assembly session till 2 pm on Monday.
