LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has said friendly relations between the two countries are crucial for peace and stability in the region. The speaker welcomed a delegation led by Iranian Member of Parliament Muhammad Mirzaei at the Assembly Chamber.

The Iranian delegation included Ali Akbar Alizadeh Bormi, Amir Hossein Sabety Monfared, and Ali Maroufi. Also present were the Consul General of Iran in Lahore, Mehran Movahedfar, along with Mr. Hossieni and Ali Asghar Masoudi.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on fostering parliamentary and economic relations. Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan emphasized the deep-rooted religious and cultural ties between Pakistan and Iran, noting that enhanced parliamentary interactions would significantly strengthen bilateral relations.

He stated, “The friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran are essential for peace and stability in the region. It is imperative to transform these historical ties into trade partnerships for mutual development.”
On this occasion, Iranian Member of Parliament Muhammad Mirzaei expressed Iran’s strong desire to strengthen relations with Pakistan in various cultural sectors. He extended an invitation to Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan to visit Iran, which the Speaker graciously accepted.
Later, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan gave the delegation a tour of the new Assembly building. The meeting was attended by Secretary General of the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Amir Habib, Advisor Usama Khawar, Malik Taimoor, Staff Officer Imad Hussain Bhalli, and Punjab Assembly Spokesperson Rao Majid Ali.
