LAHORE: A delegation of children suffering from thalassemia from Sundas Foundation visited the Punjab Assembly.

The delegation included Sundas Foundation President Yasin Khan, CEO Abdul Sattar, Manager Marketing Imran Mehr and other dignitaries.
The children of the delegation visited the new house of the Punjab Assembly and observed the important meeting venues. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan welcomed the children and invited them for a special meeting in his chamber. Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir was also present during the meeting. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan assured to make the legislation more effective for the eradication of thalassemia and promised to provide all possible financial support to Sundas Foundation.

Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir, while briefing Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan on the establishment of the thalassemia center, said that a thalassemia center will be established in every district, and the opinion of experts from Sundas Foundation will be included in this project. On this occasion, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan said that every couple should definitely get a thalassemia test done before marriage so that thalassemia can be defeated. Children suffering from thalassemia will be given the status of special children and legislation in this regard will be immediately enacted in the Punjab Assembly. Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir said that Sundas Foundation is my own institution, and cooperating with it is my top priority. We will work with Sundas Foundation to eradicate a dangerous disease like thalassemia. This step reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to reforms in the health sector and eradication of diseases.
