LAHORE: The Punjab government decided to implement modern method to prevent air pollution and dust in Lahore on the model of China. The government is all set to to install water sprinkler system at 1500 construction sites in Lahore. This is a locally developed technology on which experiments were going on for the last three weeks. After the success of the experiments, the Environment Agency has now decided to implement it practically. The Chief Minister of Punjab directed the ‘C&W’ and ‘LDA’ to immediately install ‘water sprinkler system’. Water is sprayed in a fountain-like manner so that dust and dirt are not generated at the construction site. It is ordered to install water sprinkler system at Gaddafi Stadium by JanuarJanua. It will be mandatory to cover construction sites with green cloth so that cement, soil and dust do not fly during construction work. A case will be registered for not following the water spraying procedure after February 10.
This method of ‘water sprinklers and mist’ will further accelerate and improve the mission of eliminating smog.
In this regard, Senator Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb says that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been fighting the battle to eliminate air pollution for 9 months. For environmental improvement, change in attitudes, cooperation of every citizen, use of modern machinery and methods are necessary.
