LAHORE: Former Governor Punjab and President Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) South Punjab Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood met with British High Commission Lahore Chief Ben Warrington and Senior Political Advisor Owais Shah at Makhdoom House Lahore. PPP South Punjab Abdul Qadir Shaheen also participated in the meeting.

Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood welcomed the British delegation and termed their arrival as a positive step towards further strengthening the relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion has held on the current relations, political and economic affairs between Pakistan and the UK. Both sides termed the mutual cooperation satisfactory and expressed their determination that promoting contacts is indispensable to further strengthen the bilateral relations. Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood emphasized on joint initiatives for the development of the Pakistani economy and people and said that such exchanges can be helpful in bringing the two countries closer and increasing cooperation in various fields.
The Head of the British High Commission Lahore appreciated the recent economic and financial policies of the Government of Pakistan and expressed his satisfaction with them. He reiterated his determination that the British Government will continue its full support for the development and stability of Pakistan.
Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood invited the British delegation to visit Jamaluddin Wali in Rahim Yar Khan district, which the British High Commission chief immediately accepted. He said that visits by the British High Commission and other dignitaries in the past have also proved to be very important for strengthening bilateral relations.
This meeting is being described as an important milestone in deepening relations between the two countries, exploring new opportunities for mutual interests, and restoring public trust. This will not only strengthen diplomatic relations but will also give a new dimension to economic and development projects.
